The owner of this website is Dr. Onwosi Ikechukwu. I hold an MBBS degree in Medicine and Surgery from the prestigious University Of Nigeria. Creating this platform was mostly inspired when I saw how women with breast cancer battle for their lives during my rotation in the general surgery unit at Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital, Abakaliki, especially when their cases advanced.
The push to do more in the area of health was more during my Cardiothoracic Surgery rotation when I encountered many patients with pleural effusion secondary to malignancy. It was difficult to tell my patients that they have only less than 12 months to live. I felt I could help people by telling them earlier how they could fight against cancer through early detection and immediate action to fight it.
I feel I can do more to help in both the creation of awareness and bringing in the necessary interventionist approach to ensure early detection and treatment. Following the heavy gap in information noticed in our health sector over the years I have put into medical practice, I have dedicated this website to be a platform for me to reach many people, especially people of African origin.
I use this platform to share helpful health content and advice for the general public.
